The Earrings of 1000 Markets

I {heart} earrings. There are no ifs, ands or buts about it. Once upon a time, I bought all of my costume earrings at stores in the mall. The quality was never that great and other people would often have the same ones.

Then we moved to Savannah, Georgia for a year and were married there. Tom and I were strolling the historic district and I came across a little shop that was going out of business. It's a shame that the first week were in Georgia happened to be when the shop was closing, as I found some lovely earrings crafted by hand from vintage pieces. I bought a pair. They are vintage black and rhinestone studs--the only studs I wear these days.

When you look at my pictures, you'll see that I like dangly earrings these days. Ever since that first pair of handmade earrings, I have worn only handmade pieces of jewelry, with the exception of my diamond pieces or my bracelet worn decades and decades ago by my great Aunt Marg. My dad also gave me a lovely ring on my wedding day, and I do wear this often for special occasions.

99% of the time, though, you'll find me wearing handmade jewelry. Most of my earrings the past several months, though, have come from 1000 Markets. There are just so many talented jewelry artisans on the site, and the quality of each piece I have purchased has been spectacular. One of my favorite purchases right here on 1000 Markets is actually *for* my earrings: an earring stand made by Diane Fergurson.

Her name is April and she is beautiful. When I put my earrings away at the end of the day, I feel as if I am decorating a Christmas tree. I love to look at the "ornaments" on it--3 sides of the 4 being my earrings from 1000 Markets. The ones I wear are here on the earring stand. I have purchased a couple others which I have given as gifts.

Here's a little tour of my finds since I came upon 1000 Markets:

Left brown pair is from Lee at Five to Nine Design and the gorgeous ones on the right are from Abby Horowitz Designs. Far right polka dots from Bad Cat Jewelry

Left two are from My Three Jewels and the right two are from Preserve Jewelry Studio

All are from Ronnie at My Three Jewels

My earrings from Kristin Perkins

If you adore handmade jewelry--whether it be earrings, bracelets, rings, or jewelry for men, check out the jewelry on 1000 Markets. You won't be disappointed!

That earring stand is soo tempting to buy. Half the time I forget I have all these earrings as they are all stashed away in different boxes.

Lavanya,

Diane offers these in many styles of "dress" as well. It is so convenient...I had a habit of just throwing my pairs of earrings on my dresser and always ended up searching for the other one :)

I know! I think I have lost quite a few of the 'other ones'..lol Atleast now I do have pretty boxes to store my earrings (so I don't lose them), but this seems even more practical (and so chic!)
