Felted Brooches

I have always been intrigued by wool felting. It doesn't sound that interesting, but one can find pretty wool sweaters at the thrift store, put them on hot in the washer and eventually have a completely unique piece with which to work.

I tried my hand at this last weekend and ended up making some beads, which I hope to make into a necklace. I just need to find the time!

I love felted brooches. Unfortunately, the dog chewed up my most favorite one (he is one naughty dog at times) shown below in the first picture:

I bought this one last year at CJ Twiggs on Etsy.

This brooch from delightworthyn/ARTwares features felted elements.
$19

So cheerful is this brooch from Made in Lowell!
$25

The beads add that special touch to this felted piece from Nans Glam.
$35

This brooch is part of a very unique and wonderful Etsy shop featuring the work of Yali Paz-Gilboa.

$15

Pretty in purple, this brooch is from Shop Felt Happy, $14

Made right here in upstate New York by Jennifer Locke Designs, $12.22

Splendor in winter white from Felt Sew Good, $14

Such pretty colors! From Ginny Huber, $22

We make wool felted creations at our yearly girls weekend! One year, my Aunt gave us all felted purses! So cool....

I know, aren't they lovely? I never was a felted fan until about a year ago. Now I really adore it!

I tried to make some of those felt flowers myself the other day, so I have a new appreciation for them! Beautiful!

Insect Art,

Me too! The first time I tried felting, I was scared. You can really make some gorgeous things. I like scouring Goodwill and other thrift shops for wool pieces to use for felting projects.
